Liontown awards ROM Loading Contract to 100% Tjiwarl-owned Bundarra Contracting
04/02/2025Liontown is proud to award Bundarra Contracting Pty Ltd with the Kathleen Valley ROM Loading Contract. Established in 2001, Bundarra Contracting is a 100% Tjiwarl business, specialising in earthworks, construction and ore haulage services. The scope of the ROM Loading Contract includes maintaining ore feed from the ROM pad into the primary crusher at our world-class Kathleen Valley Lithium Operation. The contract scope also includes general earthworks, including road grading, dust suppression and rehabilitation works.
The award of the Kathleen Valley ROM Loading Contract is an important step in strengthening Liontown’s collaboration with Tjiwarl businesses. Bundarra Contracting has procured a substantive fleet of new equipment in support of the ongoing operational works at Kathleen Valley, including new Komatsu WA-900 and WA-600 front-end loaders and a Komatsu GD655 grader.
Bundarra Contracting Managing Director Brett Lewis and Finance Director Patricia Lewis joined Liontown Managing Director and CEO Tony Ottaviano and Chief Operating Officer Adam Smits for a signing ceremony at the Liontown Office in Perth on Tuesday 4 February 2025 to commemorate the significant moment in our partnership.

Our Kathleen Valley Operation is situated on Tjiwarl land, in a culturally and environmentally significant region. We are proud to have signed a Native Title Agreement with the Tjiwarl Native Title Holders in November 2021. We are committed to collaborating closely with Tjiwarl and local communities, in respect of their heritage and to support local economic growth through responsible mining.
